adding smilies
First, find a site with cute smilies. Try Dumago, Rosie-Cheeks, Seventeen Seconds, or Outspoken-Kate.
Download the .zip file, unzip it and upload the images into the emotions folder located in the DATA section of the cutenews folder.
Go into your cutenews (yoursite.com/cutenews/index.php or yoursite.host.com/cutenews/index.php) and log in. Go into Options >> System Configurations.
Make sure that you deleted all the OLD smilies from the emotions folder. There should be a place in the System Configurations that have all the names of your old emotions. Erase that, and put in the names of your new smiles. If you had 3 smilies called Bob, Silly, and Wink, you would do it like this: Bob,Silly,Wink.
Save the changes and check out the comment form on your site. Your new smilies should show up =]
