offset outline
read the rules

Do you play neopets? Yes, no? Well, anyways, if you've seen a celeb 'splat' layout, many contain an offset outline for their target brushes. There is a different way to do such in Photoshop and PSP. This is the Photoshop tutorial for such.

First off, create make a new layer and stamp in (a) brush/brushes. Since mine is just an example, I just stamped on this one:

Secondly, create a new raster layer (control + shift + n) and stamp on the same brush in black. Make sure the brush is slightly offset to the brush that will have an outline.

Next, go to your layer palette and hit the Fx button, and a menu should come up. Hit Blending Options.

Now, a pop up should come out. Set the Blend Mode to Screen. Note that the black brush will disappear. This is fine. The setting screen makes the black transparent.

Lastly, the last option in the pop up is called Stroke. Set the thickness/color to whatever you'd like. I chose 1px and the color black.

And there you have it, and offset-outlined image. You can use this in the future, whenever you may need to! (: This is how mine came out.
